UK launches IPT, which is touted to be the world’s first wireless electric car charger

Electronic transport is perfect for our over polluted system, as there is very little pollution; however, these need a good and resourceful charging system. To comply with that need, IPT (Induction Power Transfer) was launched in London. Touted to be the world’s first commercially-available wireless electric car charging system, this system come from UK start-up HaloIPT’s stable.

This system plans to power England’s M25 motorway with the help of magnetic induction, a principle discovered in the 1800s. Designed to withstand any weather, HaloIPT tested it on Evie, based on the Citroen C1 (ultra compact). The car was charged up from 20 percent in about six hours, that too from a regular household socket.
