• Largest solar installation in New Jersey plugs in at Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals

  • Solarpanel.jpgNew Jersey’s largest solar installation will be plugged in this week after a long wait for its much anticipated opening. The Titusville array is located on the business campus of Janssen, a division of Ortho-McNeil-Janssen Pharmaceuticals also part of the Johnson & Johnson group. Made up of as many as 13,500 solar photovoltaic panels, the setup powers up a sweet 70% of the sites annual electricity needs. It is powerful enough to lighten up about 600 homes. This array was being constructed since April this year, finally completed and all ready to power up.

The Johnson & Johnson group sure love the idea of powering up using renewable energy and has planned to set up 20 more solar installations all over the world. These together could generate as much as 13 megawatts. Good going Johnson & Johnson!
